Our golf instruction programs are lead by Pam Tyska, an experienced and talented golf professional.  Pam leads a staff that offers knowledge and expertise to take your golf game to new levels of skill and enjoyment.

Pam Tyska,  LPGA & PGA Golf Professional

As a twenty-six year veteran NIU Women’s Head Golf Coach, Pam Tyska knows exactly how to teach the fundamentals and playing strategies of golf in a way that leads to success. Pam retired from coaching at NIU in 2012.  Throughout her career, she repeatedly earned the professional respect of her peers winning top honors for her service, contributions to sport advancement and multiple Coach of the Year honors. She was selected to the elite group of clinicians for the NCAA’s Youth Education through Sports (YES) developmental clinics every year since program inception. The clinics help potential collegiate golfers in their total development.  Through her work with DeKalb Park District she was a finalist for the U.S. Kids Golf Top 50 Kids Teachers award.        Cell: (815)761-1229

Jay Appel, PGA Teaching Professional

Jay is a graduate of Arizona State University receiving a Bachelor of Science degree in Agribusiness and Professional Golf Management.  He is a Class A PGA Professional with the desire to use his knowledge of the business and game of golf to help others play better.  Growing up having a father as a Golf Professional, Jay has spent his entire life playing golf and working in the business.  His best scoring day came when he shot 10 under par 62 setting the course record in a morning tournament round and went out that afternoon with friends and shot another 62.  He has been teaching and playing in the Northern Illinois area since 2009.      Cell: (480)773-3163
